Our Projects

COTH Projects

COTH has its own local co-ordinators and works with other partner charities such as NYOF - Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation www.nyof.org and FNC - Friends of Needy Children www.fncnepal.org to help with education, health and nutrition projects.

Education

Many children in Himalayan countries such as Nepal do not receive a proper education and therefore are going to be at a disadvantage throughout their lives. COTH seeks to identify and help to provide education to street children, poor children and orphans through carefully structured sponsorships. Click here for educational case studies.

Sponsoring an individual child usually costs between £15.00 and £60.00 per month depending on the needs of the child.

Health & Nutrition

At the cutting edge of our work is helping children who are severely malnourished. We achieve this through building nutrition centres which provide a safe place of rehabilitation for the child and ongoing education for the parent or carer.

Since 2004 the Trustees have raised enough money to open five Nutrition Centres, but more are desperately needed. Click here for health and nutritional case studies.

£60,000 can build, equip, staff and run a new centre for five years.

GOALS FOR 2010

  • To obtain sponsorship for twenty new children to attend day school

  • To secure funding for two of the final four intended Malnutrition Centres at a cost of £75,000 each

  • To agree the location and commence construction on these Centres by the end of 2010

  • To obtain sponsorship for five young people in higher education
