Children of the Himalayas logo

Welcome

COTH was established in April 2006 although the Trustees have been active in Nepal in sponsoring children since 1992 and working on projects for under-privileged children since 2002.

COTH supports only those children who have no other opportunities for education or a better life. Local charity workers ensure that COTH payments are channelled where they are needed and that there is no misuse or exploitation of your donations.

We work to protect the family unit wherever possible and seek to enable children to reach their full potential by providing educational, medical and nutritional care.

COTH is run entirely by volunteers and no salaries are paid in the UK. Our workers are motivated by compassion but operate in a highly organised and professional manner.

Our Trustees and Supporters believe the future of Nepal and surrounding Himalayan countries depends on the education and good health and nutrition of children.

The trustees are Simon Russell, Gina Parker and Peter Russell. COTH has working relationships with other Himalayan charities and has a highly experienced and respected local agents and NGOs in Kathmandu. Click to read their brief biographies.

Please read the pages of our website to see how you could become actively involved in COTH’s work either through donations or practical assistance - or both! Let us show you how far your money would go in helping children in Himalayan countries and how much you could affect a child’s health and education.
